Supporting The Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation

We believe everyone has a part to play in making our community a great place to live. For us, this includes supporting others in their field of endeavour to better the health of the planet and our community.

In establishing Know The Game, from the outset we have sought to identify a small number of charitable foundations whose focus and objectives resonate with us and who have values similar to our own. Although we are a small business, our goal is to build a meaningful relationship with a long term view to partner with and support our chosen charities.

The Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation is our inaugural community partner.

The Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation (SCCF) was formed in 1998 by former Australian Cricket Captain Mark Taylor, Rugby League legend Reg Gasnier, Olympian Raelene Boyle and Triple Brownlow Medalist Bob Skilton. SCCF focuses on financially supporting mobile home care units that help make life easier for children with cancer, as well as a number of research scholarships for doctors and scientists exploring better ways to treat and overcome cancer.

This weekend we attended the 2011 Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation Race Day at Royal Randwick Racecourse. Over 200 people enjoyed lunch in the Panorama Room overlooking the Paddock Grandstand and the final furlong. It was an opportunity to mingle with friends and colleagues, make new acquaintances and bump shoulders with some true Australian sporting legends. Despite a heavy track and a wintery outlook, we had a fantastic day to raise much needed funds to support the unique SCCF projects.

We are pleased to have formed this partnership and look forward to sharing updates with you as we grow our relationship in the coming years.
